I get so tired of people who whine about others ‘hating’ offenders. It is true that we shouldn’t hate offenders but what drives me crazy is the insinuation that people who are trying to protect children are hating offenders. It is the offender that rapes and molests a child that is the hater. It is the one who steals a child’s innocence and gets up in the pulpit on Sunday that is the hater. It is the father who abuses his child and then goes to church on Sunday and sings the hymns as though he really means what he is singing that is the hater. It is the people who protect the offenders who are the haters. It is the ones who don’t believe the victims who are the haters. It is the ones who cover up the evil who are the haters not the people who stand up for the victims. Holding offenders accountable is not hate. Putting offenders in prison is not hate. Protecting children is not hate. Doing what is right is not hate. Obeying God’s Word is not hate. God tells us to ‘turn them over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh’ and to ‘rebuke them openly’ and to ‘expose them’ and ‘withdraw from them’. Why is it that so many people are blind to the obvious? The truth may be unpleasant but it is not hate. Stand up for those who have been abused and never let the nay Sayers shame you into silence.
