I read the article in our local paper this morning about the Freeh report concerning Penn State and the Sanduski case. Like you I was sickened but not surprised by what investigator Freeh had to say. The question now is, what are churches, mission boards and other secular and Christian organizations going to do about it? We (all of us) have been sounding the alarm now for years and most of our church leadership have done little more than scoff at our concerns. The evidence is over-whelming that abuse is rampant in every part of our society but God is raising up an army of servants who are ready and prepared to tackle the challenges of dealing with this issue. Which gets us back to the question….what will our leaders do? Churches members need to start knocking on the office doors or calling their leaders on the phone and ask them this question. We all need to stop sending support to organizations who refuse to break the silence and start dealing with the abuse.
Let’s start asking the question….what are you going to do? and then lets tell them what we are going to do. Dale Ingraham
