The intolerence of love

Romans 12:9

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.” Sometimes we think that ‘love’ means that we just go along with everything or that we don’t speak out about things that we disagree with, because that would be ‘unloving’. But consider this verse in Romans 12:9. God says that we are to let love be without ‘hypocrisy’…Abhor what is evil and cleave to what is good. God tells us that love ‘abhors’ evil and cleaves to what is good. So when someone tells you that you are unloving because you are holding an offender accountable…they are the hypocrite and what they are talking about is not love at all but rather it is evil. Because true love rejects evil and cleaves to what is good. Survivors and advocates who are trying to protect children are the ONLY ones in the abuse debate who are loving, because they are rejecting evil. Since love does not tolerate evil than those who tolerate sex offenders harming children, are by definition, ‘not loving’. Those who enable offenders are constantly telling us that we are not loving, but who is more loving…those who protect children or those who try to keep sexual predators from facing the consequences of their actions? About Dale Ingraham @ Speaking Truth In Love Ministries

We started Speaking truth in love Ministries to address the issue of sexual abuse within the faith community. My wife, Faith, is a survivor of many years of abuse by her father who was a pastor at the time. We go into churches, colleges and conferences to speak about this issue.
