Ministry Update

Ministry update

As you know we have been praying that God will provide funding for us to do our ministry full time and that He will open doors for us to have more speaking opportunities. There has been a lot of interest from people around the country wanting us to come and speak. This may be the first year that we will have to turn people down or try to schedule them for next year. I still pastor our church in Campbell, NY so for now we only have a certain number of weeks that we can be away for our ministry. Here is what we have so far.

Feb. 19th and 20th. We did a conference in Bellona, NY February 19th and 20th among the Mennonite community there. We had 55 attendees and filled the fire hall where we were meeting. They have already scheduled us for February 17th and 18th next year and they are making arrangements for the conference to be at a larger venue. We are going to be having several prayer meetings through this year with the Mennonite families as we prepare for the next conference.

March 8th. Then we had a table at the annual pastors conference at Davis College in Johnson City, NY on March 8th. We made some good contacts there and we hope to get some more speaking opportunities from there.

April 10th. We are speaking at a church in Laceyville, PA.  April 10th, about our ministry and how God can bring healing to those who are hurting from abuse.

April 21st. Then on April 21st I will be speaking to a group of pastors about our ministry and how we can better prevent abuse in our churches.

April 28th and 29th. Then we are attending the Bivona conference, that deals with sexual abuse, in Rochester, NY on April 28th and 29th.

May 14th. Then we are scheduled to do a conference at the Arrowhead bookstore in Johnson City, NY on May 14th. They have a large conference room that will work well.

June 23rd. Then on June 23rd we head west and meet with pastor Tim Bos from Michigan to discuss our ministry and how abuse is impacting the church.

June 24th and 25th. On the 24th and 25th we are planning to attend the SNAP conference in Chicago where we will be meeting with my fellow board members from MKSN US and I am hoping that we will be meeting one of our own board members, Vickie Pang, who lives there in Chicago. So we are praying this will be a time of strengthening current relationships and making many new ones as well. From there we travel to Montana where we will be dropping off Dot Thomas, who is on our executive board, for a short term missions trip. She cooks for a few days at a special needs camp there and has done so for the past 7 years.

July 8th and 9th. Then we head to Colorado Springs where we will be doing a conference on July 8th and 9th. Joy Ryder, who is on our advisory board, is working on putting this together. Joy’s husband, Jeff, is going to be speaking on the topic of how abuse impacts intimacy in Marriage.

July 15th and 16th. From there we will be traveling to Farmington, MO where we are doing a conference at Max and Katy Hardy’s church on July 15th and 16th.

July 22nd and 23rd. Then it is back in NY where we are doing a conference July 22nd and 23rd at Watson Homestead in the Corning, NY area.

August. So far in the month of August we have a pastor in the Orlando, Florida area who would like us to do a conference as well, but no date has been set.

Future. We have also had inquiries from people in Washington, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Ohio. Lisa Bishop, who is on our advisory board, is thinking about doing another conference in her area in Virginia.

So there is a lot to be praying about and praising the Lord for. We have many funding ideas. We are thinking about doing a funding drive to get 200 families to support us at $25 a month. That would enable us to be full time. We would still need to raise travel expenses and so on, but that would provide a solid base on which to build. About Dale Ingraham @ Speaking Truth In Love Ministries

We started Speaking truth in love Ministries to address the issue of sexual abuse within the faith community. My wife, Faith, is a survivor of many years of abuse by her father who was a pastor at the time. We go into churches, colleges and conferences to speak about this issue.
